How does the midi sample dump work? I have a roland xp-60 hooked up to my 2000xl. I'm trying to send my sounds from my roland to my mpc. is this what midi dump is for?

NO.

If u mean, use the sounds from your XP, on the MPC, then u need to sample the desired sounds into the MPC.

Plug the XP into the sample inputs, in the back of the MPC.

Hit SHIFT+SAMPLE.

Now if you really mean MIDI data then U should do a search in this foum on midi sequencing, or sequencing with keyboards. EASY TO FIND

The best way to use the sample dump is transferring sound data direct to the mpc from your computer or the other way round useing midi leads but if you want to do the same with ur xp the best way is to sample it. Y dont you just turn the midi on within the mpc and record your xp within the midi functions.
