Help! Layering on external sampler

i use my MPC2000xl to trigger samples on an old Yamaha sampler through midi. The only problem with it is: There's no way to layer samples on the Yamaha.
The MPC can only layer internal sounds, no midi so that won't work either.

Is there an easy way to duplicate a track, and change the note number only? How do i do this?
I've tried reading the manual about the edit screen, but it didn't make a lot of sense to me.

I'm going mad here... There must be a way to do this, somebody help me out.
How do i select a whole range of midi-notes in the edit screen, and change them to another note?? i can only see one note at a time in the edit screen.

Main Screen
Edit (F2)
top left of the screen where it says 'Edit: COPY'
jog wheel all the way to the right 'Edit: TRANSPOSE'
Select the range of notes to transpose.

Right!, thanks Tutor, finally someone replied. That helped a bit, although it can be a bit random when you have 64 pads of drumsamples assigned
It certainly made for some interesting layered drumsounds. But it's a good startingpoint anyway. Thanks

If you want to take forever to do it, you can go to the program assign screen and change the notes manually, it is a lot of time, but I find the more you do it, the quicker you get. Hope this helps.

Yeah, that's a lot of work, i suppose i'll have to get used to it.
