ok complex cats...
who knows the secret of creating a scale of notes from a single sample (not the 16 levels-disgusting sound).
I heard there's some kind of equasion done through time stretching and tuning.
i read an rjd2 interview and he breifly went into his process of transposing and so on but he also maintained he usually looks for all the different notes on the record and samples them if he can (he also has the best collection of breaks ever and i don't...suppose thats the problem).
ive tried it a bit with an organ sample and it worked ok cos its like a full bodied sound, but with piano and guitar stuff when i try the same method the new note sounds out of key.
peace to all the hard core pad tappers
so i suppose my problem isnt really the process of gettin the note, but keeping it in the right key
**** it i'll just go back to loops.
