I have a question about the MPC2000XL. I want to perform a set at 120 bpm, with 120 bpm loops. I would like to be able to switch between them on at least a quarter note, if not eighth note basis, but I find that when I have my loops -each assigned to one pad-they of course play through until they are finished, even if I've triggered another pad with a different loop, or let's say if I have triggered another sequence with another loop. I am currently using Live to create these loops, and that lets you hop back and forth, dj style, between loops, pretty quickly and on the beat. I know the MPC is an old beast, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this, or has any clever work arounds. It would be tedious to cut each of my loops into 8 files and then assign them to 8th notes..even though that would work.
