cables...........

alright i have been racking yalls brain and thanks to those of you who have helped me. I had a problem with my monitors and not getting sound from them. At first i thought i had them hooked up wrong, but finally i picked one of them up and put it to my ear, they were both playing. but now i cant get a good signal, when i mess with the cables one of them will finally kick on full blast. i have phono cables from my speakers into stereo jack adapters, may this have something to do with it. are there cables that have a phono on one side and two stereo on the other. could it be a problem with just a bad connection or is there a way to pan in the master volume of the mpc to one side or the other?

yes,
go to radio shack and have fun. i spent like $40 on all kinds of adapters and y-cables and stuff one time and it really paid off. if i need to connect rca's to 1/4 or 1/8 stereo or 2 split monos, i have a drawer full of cables and it really makes things easy.
explain better what kind of connections you have on each end and i will link you up at radio shacks site to the exact part you need.
for example do you have 1 mono rca jack on the back of each speaker and a stereo 1/4 jack on the back of the amp? what is your exact setup from mpc to whatever else to speakers?

Yea i went to radio schack and got a bunch of adapters, but i think it is the adadpters that are making the bad connection so i was wondering if there are any cables with RCA on one end and 2 stereo jacks on the other, i think that makes since, i hit up a music store webiste too see, but i think i have another option on the back of my speakers to go into the MPC, there is and RCA plug and then there is one that looks like midi but a lil different i think i iwill be better off using that one.

when i say adapters i mean cables. radio shack has cable 'adapters' too. you probably have an XLR plug on the back of each speaker. to use you that you need 2 (quantity) mono 1/4" male jack to XLR cables. you can find these at a guitar music store. guitar center, H&H, radio shack should have it too. it may be called a mic to 1/4" adapter cable.

or you may have speakon connectors on the back of speakers. basically look it up in the manual for your speakers. you can probably download a pdf manual at the manufacturer website if you dont have yours. take that with you and have a salesperson help you find the right cable. you definately need male mono 1/4" to interface with the main L and R jacks on the mpc.
