sorry my mp heads for so many questions
but check it i just copped me a 2k classic

the specs READ

NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, THE SCREEN JUST FLASHES ON AND OFF, I CANT USE IT, MAYBE ITS SOMETHING SIMPLE MAYBE NOT

and yes all it does is FLASH BACK AND 4TH WHEN I POWER IT ON

i put in the BOOT DISC AND OS and nothing happens still flashes

what could possible be the problem?? could it be the LCD SCREEN? even considerng the buttons flash with it? or could it be just plain out broken?

$250 is cheap, you think that's why they sold it cause it was possibly busted or something. See how much to get it fixed and roll with that. Hopefully it aint nothing that's gonne dig into your pockets TOO deep.

Whats up Stage, a homie had that similiar problem that you mention, it was resolved it by opening the case and blowing can air in it and he noticed the screws that pinned down the board was screw tight, he loosen the screws and it worked, like some ground issue, i guess he was lucky. I have two Mpc 2000 though i bought messed up for a total price less then 600.00 , anyway i sent one unit to VST and the service took me 2 months @ 150.00, then i sent the other mpc to EPR Electronics, they took 6 months, i just recntly got it back, i advise you not send the unit to EPR, Akai only list VST as a Authorized Service Agent and EPR has to get all parts from VST thats why it took 6 months and i was charged 405.00 when i could've sent it to VST, since i lived in florida i thought it would be nice to get service at the home state, i was wrong.

nope,still wont power up
im just debating on if i should spend the loot and get it fixed (if possible)
or selling it and see if some one else can work on it as a project and just take the cash and save a few more bills and cop a 2k xl :?

I opened up a 2k classic a while back and when I put it back together I got a clicking sound and it didn't turn on at all. It came down to me placing the screws back but I placed them in the wrong spots, check the screws and make sure they are in the right spots.

When I put the screws back in the wrong places I shorted it out but I didn't blow anything, luckily, I kept trying and the screws finally found the right spots and it came on, everything still worked fine.
