Mpc2000xl, triton, and dig 001 midi problems

well let's jump right into it, i have the mpc2000xl, the triton, and the digi 001, i would like to use the sequencer in pro tools, to record midi from the triton and the mp......i have a midisport 2X2, where i have the triton hooked into the A (in & out) and i have the mp hooked in to the B (in & out)....all of this is fine, so lets say i start off with a kick drum, i load a midi track and an input track so i can hear what is playing, (the triton inputs our the 3/4 and the mp inputs our the 5/6)............ i turn the triton to midi track 1, and i want to play the midi from the mp and make the triton sounds play, so i have it in pro tools (midi input B1) which is the input from the mp, than i have the pro tools (midi output A1) whick is the midi output to the triton track one, i hit the pads and i can see that the midi is being recorded in pro tools, but i don't hear anything, even after i record something and play it back, i don't hear anything but i can see the midi nots that were recorded......i have the outputs from both the triton and the mp always on, (but it seems that pro tools cannot receive and send a midi signal at the same time from one machine to the other) but isn't that how reason works......or soft syths........can anyone give me a hand.........i believe this should be a very easy setup but every since i added the mp to the equation, i have had problems but i love playin my drums and percussion thru the pads and melody thru the triton......and i don't want to run both sequencers at the same time, i haven't been able to get them to match up perfectly, seems pro tools always jumps ahead and never is in perfect sync... :confused:

p.s. the reason i am not recordin in the mp, there is something wrong with a couple of the pads on it, and everytime i get up to 9 tracks recorded, it doesn't allow me to add anymore midi tracks to it, i plan on getting it fixed but, i have a project that i need to do before i send it out, and i don't want to lose this job......and i have other racks that i want to use there sounds............. ...........................................................any help would be greatly appreciated....

sorry i figured it out, it was a faulty midi cable. it most have had a short in it because it worked sometime and sometimes it didn't, and i thought it was the mp's problem.........
