i need help edirol midi controler and mpc

I was wondering if i can play a specific note on the mpc using my midi controller. I have it set up but i dont know how to assign the keyboard to a specific note. Currently when i press the keys it plays the differnt pads.

What kind of note....The keyboard can only play what u have loaded in the MPC or connected to an external sound module

im tryin to lay a bass line over a track I have. The bass sample is loaded on a pad ...is there any way i can play that bass sample at different octives using the midi controller

U need to make that single bass note into a program. Look up Chromatic assignment
