i have a jaz drive that used to be used on a emu E64 , i cant seem to format the drive - i did read somewhere that when drives are over a certain size you have to partition the drive for the MPC to make use of all the space.

i have three disks ive tried in the drive and all the same "????" unreconised and says FORMATTING WILL ERASE ALL DATA with no option to DO IT just back to the FORMAT window!

also on the back of the JAZ drive there is 3 options for termination on a little switch ...the options are : I,A,O not sure which of these is right but the JAZ does need to be terminated as it comes after the zip from the MPC (and before you mention it,,yes i have tried bypassing the ZIP drive)

......... any advice or maybes please???

thanks all jazzur !

by the way , its an external drive and i think i figured out that the A on the termination switch stands for Auto configuration!!

still cant format though ... im pretty sure its because they are Emu Disks....i Did think the Sounds were compatible (Emu E64 /MPC2000XL)??

i'll post result if and when i get this sorted incase anyone else is in doubt!

I wouldn't even waste my time with that.....Very unreliable!

Either get a External Hard Drive, or make the switch to CF Drives - U can stay on 1.14 for the time being too - lol

you right again!!! jaz drive is a bunch of crap... since i got 1.14 in my zip works perfect , so i just dump the zip in the PC and archive that way and then to CD or what ever , nice and simple!!
