Note variation slider issues

Has anyone ever had a note variation slider that did not respond? Did you fix it? How? How much money? Is it worth the money?

yes, I took it to my local music repair shop and the guy fixed it for $30 in 1 day! I would say it's worth it. I use it allot

The thing is I found one on craigslist going for really cheap xl w/ the 8 outs and zip and the only thing that doesnt work is the slider. I just bought an asr 10 (3 bills) off craigslist and am enjoying it but wouldnt mind having one of these puppies back in my hand for cheap. Then I will be really in business. Oh the gear lust strikes again.
EDIT: By the way, thanks for the answer. I have no problem opening it and cleaning it and checking the connections, so its all good I guess. Now I just need to decide how I will fund this.
