yo iz there a roll feature on the new mpc 2000xl? You know were you hold the pad down and the sound keeps repeating.
Two fingers or 32(3) should do the trick.

Do you mean the 'note repeat'?
Holding the Tap Tempo button while you press the pad.
And the repetitions depends on the quantification you have assigned

Yeah,go down to timing and change it to trips(6/16/32)and hold the pad down with note repeat.
Cast in the Name of God..... Ye not Guilty.

also try doubling the tempo and spacing you patterns out over more bars.. you get a tighter sequencer resoultion... enjoy.. 192ppq rolls with salad.
