filter cutoff controller numbers?????

i really want to control more than one parameter at once in real-time can i use some other midi input controller to change some parameters... ideally the filter cutoff and resonance?

Ok i been through the MIDI implementation chart | to see what i can assign to what on my MPC2000XL i found the MIDI switch window and had a quick look through the options but cant figure out how to control the filter cutoff or resonance on the low pass filter ... or any other parameter ..... am i a little ambitious? i have an emu esi32 much earlier than the 2000xl and it has this option to assign controller numbers to various parameters ?

does the MPC2000XL allow this - or is that left to the rackmounted S range ie: S2000XL 3000?

ive heard the s5000 and s6000 have excellent matrices to link most data to ther data signals???

for now im still using the emu linked to the MPC for certain sounds that need a realtime controller assigned...... but can i control the MPC params in the same way?? or do u know if which of the akai range this is possible on?

i have a controller keyboard and looked up in the midi implementation chart to see what midi messages it recognize it says progam change 0-127 then i got a book that said 1 volume 2 pitchbend etc. the only one i could control is volume no others worked for samples generated by my mpc however modulation wheel/pitchbend works when used with my roland sound module midi controled by the mpc.

I have found when you have a phrase sample if you adjust filter, tune, mixer volume it cant be controled real time if filter is at 100, then while its playing you turn it to 0 it then plays 0 when the sample loops but does not play 99-1 of the filter like we all wish it would.

the only way i know to do that with the mpc alone would be to chop the sample into 16-32 samples assign them each to a pad pad 1 freq100, pad 2 freq 90, pad 3 freq 80, etc. but then you could digital record it then send it back to the mpc so its only one pad sample that realtime filter sweeps and doesnt take up so many pads.

i dont see how through midi it would change how the sound generator works.

you can not do realtime filter cutoff or resonace controls on an mpc.

this is another lame point about the MPC that could have easily been taken care of while Akai was still 'in the game', and another reason why i'm selling my MPC...
