Zip drive problem

Hello this is my first post so nice to meet you all , i have a problem and wonder if you can help.
I have had my 2000xl for a few years and use it by itself and have never had any problems, but yesterday my 250mb iomega zip drive started acting up.
basically when i turned it on and put the disk in it ejected the disc a couple of seconds later and now does this every time so i can't load up old beats or save anything.
Has anybody had this problem and can it be fixed , also it was so long since i bought my Zip drive i can't remember what i need , should i need to replace it , i seem to remeber it being a MAC format drive.
anyway any help would be truly appreciated , thanks.

Welcome to the forums.Zipd rives don't last forever and alot of people have had the same problem.The cure for that is either get another zip,which will sooner or later die or replace your internal drive with a card reader.Search the forum for card readers,alot of helpful links will assist you on the install,if you choose to go that route.

yo man...if you wanna keep the drive your currently using you prolly should send it back to iomega to get it fixed properly or maybe they can send you a new one...but it is sad but true that zip drives go bad eventually,...the best and other option would be to have a hard drive(external or internal) or the flash card reader..or both would be the best choice in keeping your beats alive and not in digital heaven..so good luck with not losing any beats...

1. Back up that zip disc right away so you don't loose any thing.
2. Buy a new zip drive, it must be a SCSI drive. Repairing the one you have will cost much more than buying a new one off ebay.
3. Look into a better storage solution, either hard drive or card reader... both are much more realiable than zips.
