Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have the mpc 2000 with 8 outs but i also have 3 other sound modules. With that said i cant possibly put all the outputs inside my VS 1880..How many outs from 8 outs do u guys actually use.. Havent really use the outs to the extent i probably should.. Am i right to assume i dont want my snare and kick coming out the mpc going in to my DAW on the same channel?

Use what you need for any given situation...Its good to have each sound seperated but u can group certain sounds that share similar freqs if your really pushed

In your situation, why not use what you can, then record down takes etc - Know what I mean

YEah seems logical.. Im going to have the 8 outs run into my patchbay. Then from there i'll be able to throw compression into the outputs hosting the kick and snare drum for sure ..By the way does it really make a difference in the 8 out snake cables..Some have the extra tip ring on the end of the jack for 30 dollars more...

The snakes make it more organized. If you have all black cables it's kind of hard to tell which out is runnin' into which in.Well worth the doe.

nah was referring to the single ring on the end as oppose to the double ring..Maybe im not explain it right :(

My bad.As far as the snakes with the extra ring do it if you can affor it but it's not a neccessity. Also check for monster cables.

THANKS :D Im sure it would be nice, but im thinking how noticable can it be..i have the single rings going from the inputs of my VS to the patchbay and i cant tell difference..maybe a engineer could.

The snake colors, like you know red from out to in 1.Blue from out to in 2.Etc,etc.That just stops you from gettin' confused as to what out goes to what in.The extra ring makes no difference as far as i know.It may just be for a ground or could mean stereo. But i think snakes are always stereo.

I try to keep the distance as short as possible. You don't want to be runnin' cables from one side of the room to the other but i think 5 feet is a little too far.If you can, switch some stuff up and get it close as possible.
