Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Im thinking this cant be done but thort id ask anyway...
If you had one WAV file loaded, could you have different pads cue up different parts of the sample?
or is zone cutting a sample to put the parts on separate pads the only way?

copy the sample several times (assuming you have enough memory to).

Assign each copy to a different pad.

In the TRIM screen, set different start and end points for each copy.

then, when you hit the pad that each copy is assigned to, it will only play what is between those start and end points you have assigned.

It is essentially the same as zoning and chopping, but is a hella waste of memory. If you have the memory, and this workflow is easier for you, do it.
