"Remote Access"

I'm trying to figure out how to power my MPC when a conventional power source is not available such as at a park or while traveling. Is it possible to power it with some type of "outboard" battery/power supply? I'm not crazy; I'm just rather attached to my machine and want to be able to create whenever possible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I got this battery pack thing for camping, its a rechargable battery pack that is "portable" and has connections from grounded power cords to plug into it (the 3 prong kind)
it is really heavy, about as much as the mpc itself and I'd bet that it would only give a couple of hours on a single charge, but If you were gonna tale your MPC toa park (I really cant imagine why, but ok.) to work on a beat during the BBQ or whatnot it would work I guess.

A better ? is why do you want to carry around a thousand dollar piece of kit with you? I dont think it would be a good idea without a case and when you add the mpc, case and zip disks (assuming you have an internal zip drive) and the power supply, you're looking at like 60-70 pounds of stuff.
just cop one of those boss portables to get your fix of beatmaking out and about.

Good point.... plus yo hands would be full and you won't be able to reach your gun when the jackers strike.

Detroit: 2time murder capitol (at least), statistically ranked 2nd most dangerous city to live in (behind st. louis). Not a good idea. A boss dr-5 could do you good, it even has GM so it's a nice musical note pad and pretty easy to use.

I am using a yamaha QY70 for outside jammin/composing.
It´s the best small sequencer, but is has no sampling.

Hey careful, I love Detroit. Don't believe the hype. It's great here depending on where you live as with most places. I just want to be portable guys that's all. If I'm at a bbq for instance, I would much rather be tracking and enjoying the view than playing sports. Different environments give you a different vibes. I think outdoors would be great with the sun shining under a tree somewhere. I have a hard case for it and I'm a bass player so, I'm used to carrying much heavier equipment. I love the D just as much as the next guy. Its not just hype, I've seen alot of shit here, as a matter of fact I was wit dudes that ran up in somebodies crib and ran they ish.... all they ish, the MP and everything they could carry out. I'm jus sayin be careful. Its not always about where you live, folks wit bad intentions got cars and bus fair. Anyway, do you.

PS... you should look into that dr-5 I think it got an input for guitars, its prolly right up your alley.

peep out that new portastudio, it has recording to smart media and I think It has a drum machine too. Zoom (i know its zoom but whateva) makes a mini drum machine/digi recorder too, maybe these would be better. I really think that its not feasable to get a portable battery cuz it would drain mad quick, like you might only get 40 minutes out of it. If you are insistent tho, get one of those things that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car so you can plug stuff in and use the car batrery. or buy a toyota matirx, that things gots power supplies buitl it for connecting a laptop, why not connect an mpc?

Hey Finger, I see we're neighbors. That's good stuff. I have the Aw16G so, I don't think I need to buy a portastudio. I just haven't quite mastered it yet. It's my latest piece of equipment. I guess I'll have to limit myself to places that have electrical outlets for my MPC. I'm sorry, I'm just an addict. It doesn't matter to me how much I paid for it or the weight of my MPC, I gotta' track like daily. I heard Timbaland sleeps with his and it has paid off for him swell.
