you can assign a midi CC to control the slider function itself (p.20-21 in the manual), not sure if it'll work the other way around. try it.
lately i've been thinking that the MPC is half the machine it could be due to a few missing features and alot of other things that could be cleared up with a nice OS revision. Akai is way behind alot of other companies in this regard. they could've easily made this machine unbeatable, but have neglected it. the 1000 isn't much better, the two sliders are a nice idea though. it needs a better midi implementation (midi CC control over alot more parameters), mf'ing real-time grid sequencing(!!), more control when used live, real-time filter, etc.
great machine as it is though i guess. i'll sure miss it...
