Please help: Hooking up MPC 2000xl to Roland Phantom XR MIDI

ok. i have a midi keyboard, a Roland Fantom XR Rack and a MPC2000xl. and i'd like to use the MPC as the controller, and use it as the sequencer. can someone please help me out? also, i dont have a mixer, i dont know if i need one at this point. thx

you only need a mixer if u aint got anything to hear em all at once.
MIDI IS NOT AUDIO! so dont expect it to magically come out the MPC either!

right now all u need is a source where by u can plug both your rack and mpc so that they can be heard, u can use a normal DJ mixer, i used to do this back in the day and still do if u'm working from home occasionally.

dont ask me how to do this, cause i consider that common knowledge and sense!

you have not given information to if u have MIDI LEADS? so i assume u have..

plug the out of the MIDI KEYBOARD to the IN of the MPC, then the OUT OF THE MPC to the IN of the RACK....what ever u press on the keyboard will trigger the MPC and the RACK or either or to your choice. (meaning rack or mpc only.) Also the MPC can control the RACK.

Hope this helps...also your going to have to read up on MIDI Channels, Devices and stuff like that.. once you have you will be abled to have loads of midi tracks running and none of them conflicting and changing the other.

by the way.... you say "Roland Phantom XR MIDI" like MIDI is differet for every machine! hey mate its not....u can apply the same midi principles to ALL midi enabled equipment.
