Drive broken

hey i just took my floopy drive out of my mp and put it right back in and now my mp is not reading the drive, when i turn it on the floppy doesn't load, the yellow light comes on but nothing, is this a bug?if so how can i fix it any help would be good

If the light is on, then the power supply is okay, so it means that the data ribbon is probably not pushed in correctly or got damaged when you took it out in the first place.

i took it apart agian today and everthing is in there securely and in place, but i have 1 more question i have an ide zip that i am going to hook up but i just have to buy the cables for it do you think that it will work?i won't have any problems with that because the floppy isn't working?
also is the akai website not up any more?i am looking for a service place in CHicago uf any one knows please let me know
