The Asr 10 was only made once in 1995-1996. like if the Mpc 60 was made in 87-88 and no other mpc's existed. Not only that i think the ASR 10 is way more complicated it has 3 manuals one is 2 inches thick. it has 62 effects that are quality. the mpc's Eb16's 5 effects for the mpc are lame in comparison. The asr has loop functions like bowtie loop and others like if the sample comes in real loud and ends soft you can fix it its not normalise or volume it does it kind of by velocity it will fade it in for you by selecting that loop function it has like 5 of those. You can loop things that you never would on the mpc because to much work, like if a vocal comes in to soon at the end of the loop thats because the singer came in too early you can chop that off, then reverse the very end of the sample and add that to the end so it makes the loop work, the ASR has a loop function designed for you to do that. mpc has one loop thats it. You can assign all kinds of functions to the asr 10's modualtion wheel. With a controller keyboard through midi the modualtion wheel can only control volume on the mpc, the mpc's sound generator cant do modulation. The asr 10 has a reverse button if some thing is looping at anytime you can just press reverse and it will play in reverse in the mpc you have to make two copies and reverse one of them, not as much control cant randomly reverse without chopping samples. The Mpc does let you see the Waveform though i like that alot. If i were you i would get a second job for a month or two and try to keep everything, if that doesnt work out i would sell everthing but the asr, mpc, tech 12's and records.
I own an mpc 2000xl studio plus because i dont buy used gear, i was saving for an ASR 10 but had to buy a car by the time i saved enough the mpc 2kxl came out.
