Mpc and Pc Hook up?

just curious if any software was created that allows you to connect the mpc 2000 to a pc so that you can save your songs straight to your pc's hard disk.
if so please lead me in the right directions

well you already can using a floppy or zip disk, as the mpc stores sequences in the standard midi type 1 file type (.mid). any midi sequencer will open these sequences. cakewalk, sonar, cubase, logic, reason, etc. if you just want to do it to back up your songs, just copy the entire contents of your mpc disks to the computer.

if you want to 'record' your songs as .wav files that you can burn onto audio cds (or do more production on) you just need a wave recorder and need to connect the audio outputs of the mpc to the audio in on the computer. a dual mono 1/4" to stereo 1/8" adapter usually does the trick. windows comes with Sound Recorder which will work to record the songs in. other programs like sound forge, cubase, logic, acid, wavelab, etc will also work.
