Ive had my 2000xl for about a year or so and theres something ive never been totally sure on....

With regards to the quantise, does the swing affect the total sequence, or just the track its applied to????

For instance, i have hats on track 1 which i wanna set 57% swing....I then go to track to and want the kicks to have more swing, so i set those at 75% etc etc etc...is this possible?

For this to work, do i have to select each note before assiging the swing? ...OR, is the swing universal for the entire sequence?

you can set the swing for individual sounds.....

so set the snare, then record it to the sequence, then set the high hat, and record it.

can you apply swing after you have recorded a track?

I'm pretty sure you need to apply it before sequening the track.

I find it easier to get use to the swing function by applying it to all your sounds(kick, snare, and hhat) to see how it affects em.......Once you get the feel for it, then from there start doing differant settings for each sound.

I usually quantize my snare and hihats the same, then my kick i do something differant. or I keep the kick and snare the same, and just switch up the hihats.

Some people do each drum differantly, although this can be very very good, i think its more of a pain in the ass-as sometimes it requires trial and error. Id rather just lay down the drums with no quantize at all-but thats me!

remember that once you apply the swing setting the values will stay as you set them until you change them back.
