Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So you can only resample to downgrade the sample rate with my 2000xl so whats the best way to add effects.
I can only think to play the sample through my processor and record to cd separate (I have no pc you see) and resample from that. Obviously some quality will be lost. I can add S&rtn fx through my mixer but with just the two output from my mpc (the stereo output as two mon panned) I have to group drums for this.
Obviously I don't want to resample long delays etc but will smaller reverb that i've resamples onto a sound work ok if I set the sound to poly on the mpc so as to not cut the tales off, or will this still not sound as good as rev done through a s&rtn?
Thanks I hope you have got what I mean peeps! :?

try recording it to tape (with the effects) and then sampling it back to the mpc. sounds great!

Use a minidisc or home cd burner. Does your MPC have digital in/out. If it does you can also get a Optical to Coaxial converter. most minidisc us Optical the converter is by Maudio. Then its just like you did resample because you dont lose any quality.

This is the best idea of course but i'm yet to come across the 8 output on the UK ebay which holds the dig i/o for the mpc2000xl, anyway this would give me more outputs and less of a problem but I'm not mug anoughth to give Akai/arbeiter/numark ,or who ever the **** it is now! over 200 squid for an output board. They can kiss my white spotty ars before they see that sort of money from me!
