RECORDING with CUBASE : with MPC2000xl & Roland Fantom XR!

ok, i've posted this many times, and this is getting irritating. i've read up and cannot solve this problem.

I have a EMU-0404 Sound Card, and Cubase SX.

and here is my setup. I have a MPC2000xl, and a roland fantom Xr Sound Module. I have the midi out of MPC to Midi IN of The Fantom. And midi out from the sound card to midi in of my mpc. now i can use cubase to play my sequences thru my mpc, thats all hooked up right.

and i have my audio out from mpc to my mixer, and my audio out from my sound module to my mixer, and out of my mixer into my in's in the sound card.

and when in cubase, i select add audio track, record, and nothing is recorded.

so if someone could please walk me thru the process, it would be great. again, i've posted this many times and still no progress.

also if anyone has AIM or something like that and can help me please reply, cause i gotta get this working.

Do a search and search for member named "classic", he has actual videos that he made for FREE that you can download. I won't bother posting the link, this will give you the opportunity to see how search works.

classic, your video helped, but it didnt fit my situation completely.

ok quick question have u checked your drivers etc.... your saying u can recive audio right its just not recording?? So when u play ur MPC u can see the audio bars(green) moving up and down on the highlighted track right??

Also do u have a cracked version of cubase, casue that can make a big differnce. If its cracked the drivers are unstable and the program is unpredictable.

The only other thing i would say is to get to a steinburg website or forum and find somebody with the exact soundcard that you have.

ya, it is cracked. basically im using it till i get money for a m box and pro tools which im getting later this week. and im gonna take this sound card back. thx

i have the same setup minus the fantom. i remember setting up cubase & the 0404 to work together was a pain but i forget what i did. i just reformatted my computer though. if i figure it out soon & i remember to come back to this site i'll let you know.

make sure you have the updates to the 0404 software. you can download them from the emu site. i think there are 3 files.

You need to setup your Patchmix DSP Program like this:

In Card L

In Card R

ASIO-- 31/32 or 1/2

I say go with 1/2, also you need to include a WAVES L/R to monitor windows sounds, there is an emu forum out there, search for it.

Once you have your Patch MIX DSP setup properly, then OPEN CUBASE and set it to record from ASIO, I think Cubase supports ASIO, if it doesn't do everything like I just said but set it to record WDM. The tutorials are in the manual for the 0404. Also BE SURE to check your submixes and monitoring.
