how make some complex and long breakbeat like squarepusher?

cool im a big fan my self..
this is what i know.
this guy is a psychophat:) he spent two years!! learning to steprogramming drumachines(hes first was a boss dr660 that he have used on many songs)
he started out with trying to sound like a reagular drummer(hes an old jazz musician) and took it further trying to do stuff a drummer cant do..the fills and rolls with pitches..the secret about both aphex/pusher is really not sush a secret..the use drumachines/samplers like everybody else..but they have really learn how to play them.
and get your self a midistepsequenser(i got a mac16/3) aphex got AS one.
steprogramming and controlling midi and record the audio in protools and cut/twist/pitch small parts to quantize grids...and learn midicontolling stuff and stepprogramming.
just try to record your mpc in 32note instead of 16 and think as drummer:)
a mpc is a nice start!

Are you talking about getting a sample loaded onto pad 1 or programming a drum loop on the MPC manually, then assigning the WHOLE bar to pad A1? This might be a stupid question, but i just want some clarification.

It would be dope if you could assign whole bars made in sequences to a pad...that would be hot. If this possible, how is it done? thanx for the help...peace

A sample of a drum break assigned to a pad..... the only way I know of to get a manually programed bar assigned to one pad is to record it to an outside source then sample it back to the MP.. ... or if you recorded it to the computer, convert it to wav and transfer it back to the MP.

go into the program screen, then parameters. Tap the pad to be altered and turn the value in the freq: field to 0 (or whatever) and press open window.... .. then set the value in the Velo>Freq: field to 100 (or whatever). The same princible applies to pitch.

squarepusher stopped using hardware around "selection 16" - "go plastic/do you know squarepusher" are all computer based sequencing, which i believe he sequences in sonar/logic, and he has a dedicated dsp card to run reaktor and his $4000 orville FX processor, so thats how he unleashes the sickness now

its hard on mpc, what you do is loop snares at different rates. first you make a sequence with just normal snares then constantly substitute rolling snare for the same event. like program change your snare constantly but then you have to go in and adjust manually in step the duration of each roll.
