MPC 2000XL vs. MV-8000

I getting ready to make my first major purchase for my studio and trying to decide between the MPC 2000xl,MPC 4000 or the Roland MV-8000.I just need some advice on which unit is worth it.I'm not a big fan of computer based setups I love the feel of the pads and the ease of use,just a little confused about which unit to purchase somebody help!!!!!

Go online and read the specs on each and then go to the music stores and f*ck with' em. What you wanna do with will really make you learn towared one or the other.

I guest ill let the cat out the bag. I now own a mv 8000. I sold my 2kxl cause I just wanted a change plus I got a great price for my mpc. The one thing I will say is this. No mpc or mv is gona make your beats any better. Each machine gives you options that may limit you or overload you. I got the mv because of the way the company has continue to update it compare to the 4k. I never used a 4k so I won't compare the two but I will compare the tech support(not equal). Well if we want to compare the mv to the 2kxl I once I own. Ill say that the mv beats it when it comes down to tech specs. I think for the price of a new 2kxl any one get a mv or just save up for a 4k but that's up to you. I just wouldn't get a blue 2kxl. The 2kxl is a great and simple machine when it comes to midi. Everything you should need is in there. I think buying these machines is more about what you need as options. I feel the mv can do everything the mpc2kxl can do but I couldn't say the same about the 2kxl.

Why can't people just read what others have wrote a millions times over on this and leave it at that instead of asking AGAIN and AGAIN..

It's all about what production technique you feel.

If you are more into live programming I think you've should go with the mpc's

otherwise go with the roland machine.

its because of the free nature of this forum lamp- people will never search the archives or even read similarly titled threads which are on the main page when they can ask the same question and potentially miss out on some real good answers by those who cant be bothered to repeat themselves

without changing how this forums works you'll never be able to encourgae peeps to do this for themselves....changing the forum straucture could mean too much work for tutor or may piss off the regulars but the only way to stop this is to do some of the things suggested in the 'site suggestions' forum- which is really reliant on tutors time

i will one day learn to ignore these peeps; until everyone does it will keep happening and there are some sound cats with far more patience on here than me who'll always helps these dudes out....

I've had the MPC2000 for years. I recently got the Roland MV 8000. Never tried the MPC4000. I'm sure the 4K is a banga, the Roland 8k ain't no joke either. I'm glad people are sleeping on it really, but it all comes down to the user not the gear. If my music sucks....it would suck with the 4K too.

It's like a Ford & Chevy.....the ride might be different, but they will both take you to the same place~

Now that I have a mv I don't think or look at roland as ripping off that much from the mpc. If you was to look at there hard disk reocorders you'll see the mv looks a lot like them just with pads. Now days everybody is using the mpc pad look on there units. Would if be a rip off if another company was to use the triton touch screen. That mv look is really where the two comparsons end. Everything under the hood is really different. The truth is it don't take much to make a hit. More and better stuff will follow after all of this stuff but classic music was made on far lest. I just look at the mv as a nother choice for us to look at and maybe or maybe not choose. Its all about the music not what's better. I think some of us for get that at the end of the day.
