Track On / Track Off Using the 16 pads on MPC2000

Hello ,

Me again.
My manual was missing the pages that explain how to turn on/ turn off a track by simply hitting a Pad. I am using an MPC2000 .

That would be a very nice feature to have for onstage performances me thinks.

The links that say where I can download the Old MPC2000 manual are no longer working. Akai must have changed their site recently.

Could someone eiter point me to a working link of where I may download the MPC2000 manual, or just tell me how to do this?

what u can do with that is... Click on the Track Mute button on your MPC, not sure if the non-XL has one, but i know the XL one does....and u can use your pads to cut on and off certain track numbers...for instance, track numbers 1-16 on bank A....tracks 17-32 on bank B and etc on Banks C and D

did that work, i couldnt exactly remember, cause im out of town... i went back and changed the post and every thing, my bad.....

Yes it did, the one thing I wish they would allow you to do to take that feature a step beyond is to actually record what you do inside that screen per sequence...that would be awesome....so far it doesnt look like you can do that though.

What you were saying before works on the mpc2000 as well.
My above comment actually defeats the purpose of live performance if I wish to save it exact. Nevermind that .

the akai archives dont have the 2k manual anymore, but forat has it in a .pdf on there website. look at 3/4 of the page after the XL and before the 60.

Second hand gear with missing manual pages is worth it I spose if the price is right....and I must say it was!

you can record that if your recording the beat into something....when your playing the beat, you can open the track mute window and mute/unmute tracks while its playing. you can also switch sequences while its playing.....
