saving fx patches question

to what file are the mixer setups, fx sends and fx patches saved?

last night i was working on this beat, i saved the .ALL and the .APS files like a zillion times. today i load it up and the mixer faders and fx patch is there but none of the sends are set up.

what am i missing?????????

They should have been saved with the ALL file, I don't know why that is happening though.

im referring to "stereo mix source" and the other 3 underneath that



i called akai tech support today. he told me to set it up like that to save the settings with the .ALL file but it didnt work!

The tech guy is right. That's how I and all my boys save it. ALL file contains the mixer and fx settings.

do u have it set to program or drum? i think it must be on program for it to save with the aps..

the akai dude told me it had to be on drum. i tried it and it didnt work.

so i tried it on program and that didnt work either!

Mine is setup just like xl pg 135. Exactly.

Shift 7
stereo mix source: program
indiv/fx: program
copy pgm to drum: yes
record mix changes: yes

I've NEVER set them different since I bought it
and have NEVER had a prob.

in the end the only way i could get the mixer sends to save was by setting it to:

drum
drum
no
yes

i have no friggin clue what any of it means and the akai tech couldnt tell me either. but at least it saves now.

i totally tried like you do it Lampdog and it didnt save the fx sends. BUT i dont save the individual programs either, only the .APS file.

aside from the saving fx sends thing that we've just figured out, is there any reason to save the individual pgm's?

if the .aps file saves em anyway, why do it?
