Song Mode-Sound (kick will not play)

Ok. I just finished a beat. So I wanted to put it in song mode. I did everything like I should copy sequence for intro, hook, blah blah. Well I have a change up at the beginning of the third verse. I change up the kick. So I erased the main one and kept the change up kick. Cool.

I go into song mode, set everything up and convert. I play the beat. Then BAM! The change doesn't happen! The "kick" that I wanted to play doesn't!

When I go back in the song mode screen to make sure I have the right sequence and I do. It plays fine, until I go back to the "Song Sequence".

It seems to me that it's in mute when that sequence come around, but how!? When the actual track in the "Change Up" sequence isn't muted!

What 's happening!?

Don't erase anything until you are completely finished with the whole song.
Just make a dif seq and give it a dif name and use that in song mode.

Why are you converting. Just leave the thing in song mode.

Me, I make a bunch of sequences and I don't delete anything.
I just chain which ones I want in song mode, I don't convert either until I'm finally finish and the song plays how I want.

I did everything correct, atleast to me! Even before I hit the "convert" button I pushed play and it played with the change. I was like cool, hit the convert button. Play the song and the change up didn't happen! WEIRD!

I will have to try it again when I get off work.

I didn't know there was a different mode to pick! I just push the convrt button.


I tried it before I left for work this morning and the same thing happened, but...

I noticed that the the change up track is MUTED in the "Song"! Even though, in that change up sequence it's not! When it gets to those change up bars, it stays muted.

To convert the song, press CONVRT [F4].

The settings (MIDI output, stereo mixer settings, tempo settings, etc.) in each track of
the first sequence will be assigned to all of the following sequences.
OFF TRACKS IGNORED
Tracks that have been turned off (track “ON:” is set to “NO” on the Main Screen) will
not be converted. All tracks will be turned on after conversion, but the data in tracks
that have been turned off will be blank.
All the parameter settings of the first sequence will be used for the new sequence.
MERGED ON MIDI CH
Each sequence will be merged according to their MIDI output channels to the corresponding
tracks.
For example:
All track data of MIDI channels 1A-16A will be merged to tracks 1-16
All track data of MIDI channels 1B-16B will be merged to track 17-32
Drum tracks 1 - 4 will be merged to tracks 33 - 36 consecutively.
The Exclusive data will be merged to tracks 1-32 according to the MIDI channel
assigned on each track.
To convert, press DO IT [F5].
CAUTION: If there is data in the sequence you have selected as the destination, the data will
be erased. Be careful when you are converting to a sequence with a name other
than “Unused” .
If the size of the sequence will exceed 50,000 notes after conversion, it will not be
converted.

this is whats going on, you have in Track Status: Reference to 1st Track

this means that all your Sequences are going to follow the setup of the 1st sequences' track line up, including drum program organizations, MIDI output, stereo mixer settings, tempo settings, etc....for instance, in "song mode" sequence 1, if it has DRUM 2 on track 1, DRUM 4 on track 2, DRUM 1 on track 3, and DRUM 3 on track 4, DRUM 4 on track 5, DRUM 3 on track 6, and so on.... then that means when you get ready to convert, the conversion is going to follow that setup of Sequence 1 for your track setup, which in turn, what i do is when i record i try to make a habit of recording certain DRUM Programs on the same tracks especially if you do a lot of Sequences from a Song into one Sequence...or you can also choose a different setup during the conversion for "Track Status"...such as: Off Tracks Ignored and Merged on MIDI Ch.
