Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

HI there. I am new to the world of MPC, and have just got me a machine. What i want to be able to do is use it to trigger sounds through VSTis in cubase, and also and most importantly, use the repeat function, as I love the way that works, and is not available in Cubase...Can I do this ?...

Thanks in advance..

Well.......... The good news is, all of that can be done with the 2000xl and SX 3. The bad news is, it's a bit of work to set up your midichannels to get it to work.
I use a preset file for every track i make, so you don't have to set it up everytime you make a new track. Perhaps it's easiest to just send you the empty Cubase project, cause typing out how to do it will take me half an hour anyway.

Give me a day, and i'll upload the files with some pictures somewhere. If i forget, send me a PM.

Thankyou very much, that is incredibly good of you to go to this trouble, as it is going to save me a lot of time....

You rule, as they say...

Well, i've stuck the files here:

http://www.kimik.nl/data/MPC/

There's one Cubase file, and 4 pages of text with pictures you can download.
Let me know if it works.

Thanks again, this has really given me a flying start into this world, I am very exited at getting to know the mpc, as I just turned one on for the first time today ,already I can tell the midi feels much tighter, and I love the reapeat function...

this is some great info.

if I had this set up, but with the addition of a midi control going into the mpc, would I be able to somehow control vst's with the midi controller?

I'll tinker with it tonight, but if anybody knows what changes would need to be done off hand, lemme know, I'll probably come back here if I can't figure it out (or let me know if the MPC would need a "midi thru" for this to work)

never mind, I was asking about using the 60, and realized there's a midi thru option I had to turn on.... working like a charm now
