How to control Rebirth (303,808,909) Using the MPC2000

Hey everyone,

If anyone wants to know how to control Rebirth using an MPC2000 here is how...

1) Enable Rebirths "Use rebirths standard mapping" -"Remote Midi control" Set the midi channel on Rebirth to the channel you want to record the changes on , on the MPC. (I used channel MIDI - 1B...so I set the channel to 1 on rebirth as well)

2) Set the channel of the USB Keyboard controller connected to the MPC via MIDI IN (2 or 1) to the same channel (Midi channel 1)

3) The manual of rebirth has a pattern changes section that tells you what note on the USB controller corresponds to what Bank change, pattern change, Distortion ON/OFF , Delay ON off....etc... Print this and find the keys on the keyboard that change the interface for full control.

4) Midi out on the MPC should be enabled for the midi cable that is connected to the computer interface.

5) Overdub-->PlayStart and record pattern changes into different sequences.

I Rewire the Rebirth through Reason 3 to get full use of the Reverb and distortion units etc.

Now I just need a real 303 and I wouldnt have to worry about this. There are some really cool clones out there.

just slave rebirth to the mpc via midi. no dramas yeh... its very easy.

Something that is not possible in Rebirth is the ability to control Both Pattern Changes and Use Realtime Knob control at the same time (The options setting in rebirth will only let you be in one mode or the other at a time)

Does anyone know of any other programs that emulated the 303 really well but are a VST plugin or something?
