Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I know yall sayin to yourselves, "search!" But I did and didnt see anything about this.

Ok, I'm installing the the board and getting ready to put the bottom plate back on when I notice in the manual it says, "make sure the IC522 and ferrite core (attached to the connecting cable) components do not touch the bottom plate." After taking a few minutes to figure out what those things were in the first place - I'm still not sure what the ferrite core is - I put the bottom plate back on but the IC522 DOES touch, even with the extra clearance space provided with the raised part of the bottom plate. I've never seen anyone mention a problem with this so I assume it's not a big deal? Can it be bent out of the way?

I decided to bend it a little to clear the plate. Seems to be working fine.

A ferrite core is the type of metal hollow cilinder usually wrapped around a computer monitor cable.

Ok, I figured thats what it was. There was nothing else attached to the cable so that had to be it. I just wonder, if Akai really thinks its an issue why would they put it so close to the bottom plate?
