Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I just won my auction for a MPC 2000. So what do I have to do to hook my MPC to my computer to record the beat I made? Can I use a 1/4in - 1/8in y-cable too go from the stereo left and right outputs to the line in on my comp, then record the beat in cool edit?

dope, how much did you get it for?

I believe you could do what you're saying with the Y-adapter.

I just bought the Echo Mia soundcard from guitar center for $99.99. It has 2-in/out. What I do is have two mono 1/4" cables from the main out of the mpc into the Input of the Soundcard. From the soundcard output, i have 2 mono 1/4" to 1/8" RCA going into my stereo which powers my monitors. That way, I can listen to my MPC and my computer at the same time. All I do is open cool edit pro, press record, press play on the MPC, and it records it directly into the Soundcard. The Echo Mia has really nice quality too, I highly reccomend it. If you have the 8outs and want to multitrack that's a different story.
