sampleing a sequence(bass) to

mpc's metronome, how do i sample a bassline from a micron into the mpc in time with metronome-drum track that's already programed in the mpc? ///for example if i've got drums on track 1, and wanna sample my bassline to 2,,,,,pls help, thanx in advance

i dont know about sampling into the mpc. why not connect the micron to the mpc with midi cables? then record into the mpc. thats the only way i can see you being able to record to the metronome...

You have two choices:

1) You can buy a MIDI cable and connect the Micron to your MPC. Then you can play to the metronome of your MPC, and create MIDI tracks. This is probably the best way.

2) You can connect the Micron [AUDIO OUT] to the MPC [RECORD IN] and sample it in (choose analog as the source). If you choose this route, I reccomend that you adjust your your metronome so that there are four clicks before it plays.

Sorry, how this thread cames out? Record in the mp while sequencer is playing??? 2K/XL???

It's all over the MPC2000XL'2000 forum, YOU CAN'T SAMPLE WHILE SEQUENCER IS PLAYING.

To be more helpfull, you'll have to record your bass line either on computer/ digital recorder/tape whatever, and then you sample it in ya MP.
lil chop'n match BPM, that's it!

man look - get you some midi cables and connect the two together. them record a bassline.

if you dont want to do it that way, load up some bass samples and bang them out on the pads...

if you dont want to do it those ways then your going to have to go into Sample mode and sample your bass. how? get a 1/4" to 1/4" cable. plug one end into the Output on the Micron and the other end into the RECORD IN on the mpc. go into sample mode on the mpc and sample what you play...

BUT doing it that way, you wont be able to hear the metronome. you cant hear the metronome while your "sampling."

Smoove you're my man and all but i have to go with TBC on this one.I would much rather work with audio than midi it's so much simpler.Go from the micron out to the mp in and play your joint out and then chop and overdub.Much easier.IMO.

He said he wants to SAMPLE a bassline tht's already PROGRAMED INTO THE MPC, already MIDI.. he didn't say he wants rec MIDI... Also if he sample from MICRON out to MPC in, it will be no more a "metronome track" but a "live played" one...

So back to topic's subject, doctah x, if you want to SAMPLE tht bassline pre-recorded via MIDI, you'll have to record it on external, recorder, other sampler or WHATEVER, then get the sample back to your MPC.

where did he say that kilowax? i dont see it on my screen. maybe your confused? all I read was that he wants to sample a bassline played on the micron into the mpc using the metronome.......he said the drumtrack is already programmed into the mpc. man good luck doctah
