mpc2000 pro tools sync problem

I'm trying to sync my mpc2000 to pro tools(m box) and can't figure it out. I'm using an m-audio oxygen 8 midi controller as a midi interface. Does anyone know if this can be done? Do I have to buy a seperate midi interface?

I got it to sync, but now it wont pro tools won't record audio after i hit the online button. sorry i think i saw something about this before but i've been searching and can't find it.
