New XL owner

I finally got my 2000XL and I'm loving it, the work flow is crazy, the beats I'm making now destroy the ones I used to make on my Triton. I have one question though, I sampled a guitar lick but it's really clean sounding, I'm trying to get it to sounds dirty like old vinyl, is there any way to do this with just using the XL?

u can try converting it to a lower qvality,

I never use the resample function on the xl. But you can give it a try.

I'd say better results could be had by lowering the hi-pass filter in the program -> param screen. It won't give you exactly what you're looking for, but it might be better than nothing.

I do sample from vinyl but I played this sample myself on guitar which is why I want to make it a bit grittier. Thanks for the suggestions I'll give them a try.

Also you can sample some vinyl hiss.You know, the part before the song actually starts.THen stick that underneath the riff after you have filtered it down some.(The riff that is)

try recording it to a tape deck with a bit of distortion....and then use that vinyle hiss..

No you didn't sample from vinyl but if you do spend it up to 45 to get a dirtier sample.

Doing the lower bit conversion on the 2kxl would do the trick but it takes a while depending on how big your sample is.

If you have a software editor and can get your sample into your computer, do it that way, it's faster.

BTW, pg RESAMPLING 97 xl manual shows you what to do.

I think resampling function u can use but it takes a while.
