MPC with computer

I know u can setup yer mp with a computer, bu if u do it, what can u do with it? does the mpc controll the coputer or vice versa? or both?

programs im intrested in are Reason and CubaseSX3

i suppose the mpc would control the computer....

im not askin how to set it up, im just woundering IF I set it up, what would I be able to do.[/b]

My MPC stopped accepting blind dates. I set my MPC up with the Waldorf Q and while the MPC liked it but the Q has not returned the phone calls. After I set the MPC up with the JP-8080, the JP kept calling back all the time to the point of annoyance (active sensing?).

get a zip drive for the computer or if your mpc has digital out get a sound card with digital output to sample back and forth digitally. You can use the computer to process samples meaning add compression, very important. delay reverb, cut and paste options may be easier on computer. alot more effects options than the eb16 mpc effects.

then once u have the parts made on the mpc you can record seperate tracks on the computer for example the mpc has 32 voices of polyphony if you use your computer as a track recorder your highhat could be track 1 screaming with 32 voices track 2 kicks at 32 voices track 3 snares at 32 voices track 4 bass track 5 piano etc. if you play all of those out of the mpc at once you only get a total of 32 voices of polyphony that means your highhats only get 7 voices for example. that way when you burn a cd it will sound loud and crisp and each sound defined and up front not muffled and in the back ground. got a go will give more thoughts and ideas later.

Im just trying to get an answer, what will u be able to do... is it so hard to write something like "u can controll redrum with pads" "u can add effekts" or anything else, it takes much less time then writing, "go search on the forum blabla"

intresting... so the sound will get better if I record 1 sound at a time? does it matter if I use the 8out, audio out or digital out?

i mainly just use my computer as a multi track recorder. yes, it is better to record each sound on it's own track. having 8 outs would probably just be more convenient.

you can also get vst instruments. & of course you can sequence within the computer.

By now you could have already tryed every possible combination withwhatever gear/peices you have and answered maybe some of your own inquires. Seems like you are asking before you try it out.

Less talk and more action is in order. Experiment and come up with answers and then ask us about the scenerios you have problems with or stuff you just can't figure out. It's not good to ask without even trying, that makes it seem like you are............ Never mind people don't like that word...
