My band just lost our drummer. We're a mathy noisy hardcore band, maybe metal without the meathead. It's just the bass player and myself now, and we're planning on doing something a little different.
Beats like squarepusher, or aphex twin & noise like merzbow, with mathy metal, IE. Botch, Dillinger Escape Plan, and maybe some old ATR/DHR style thrown in...pure chaos.
I've got a huge ass PA w/2 Mackie M1400's and I'm thinking about getting an MPC to run it through instead of a live drummer.
Is the MPC the way to go? It's basically going to be just a drum machine, we'll use keyboards and another sampler for the other noise.
thanks to anyone who can give me their thoughts..
