basic set-up for the new jack, please

Just purchased a MPC2k for 300€, downloaded V1.72 on akaipro.com. Shit works, but can someone tell us some basics for sampling!?
We got want to insert samples from 2 SL1200 (& 1 mixer technics with sampler in/output) to our MPC2k. We ain't got a PC, so we can not yet record anything, but target is to input samples, like a bass-line, cut it at the right length, accord it to a drum pad and consequently repeat it so we get a bass-beat, consequently add a next sample (hi-hat, vocal, ...)
We want to create songs, only by samples.

So, some help concerning set-up (connections master-mpc2k-amplifier) and some key actions would be veryhelpful.
