Quality Question PC-Rip vs. MPC-Sampled

Yo,

it´s not a question of "What is more comfortable", just a question of better sound. I´m samplin some stuff from Vinyls and CD´s too. I connect the MPC-Input with the Headphones Output of my cd player to sample some things. I can surely do the same shit with an audioeditor like cool edit or wavelab much more comfortable and transfer the samples with cd, zip to my mpc. But i think it sounds a bit better if i do it with the mpc. it could be that it´s absolute bullshit.
what´s your opinion? Which sounds better?

I think it's personal preference.I sample off everything but nothing beats that dirty,grimy,hissy sound of vinyl.NOTHING.

If you rip it straight from CD you get the exact same sound that is on the CD. Same if you sample via S/Pdif, provided you get the cabling and clocking right.

If you use the headphone out of the CD player, the sound is converted from digital to analog by the CD player's D/A converter, and back to digital by the MPC's A/D converter. This changes the sound slightly. In addition, the headphone amps on consumer CD players aren't very high quality, influencing the sound even more. Even the cables/connectors/grounding can influence the sound.

In short, the second method is less hi-fi. If you prefer this sound, do it this way. If you want to be sure you get exactly what's on CD, rip it.

I got all my cds ripped anyway for my mp3 player, so its hella easy to just load any song into CEP, and chop out whatever sample I want. Problem is, I've only sampled from CD once...
