mpc2000 and cdrom drive problem

i have a 2000 and a glyph 12x cdrom drive. i have never used it. it has been in the box since the year 2000. i got a disc, but i don't think the mpc is not reading the disc. the screen is showing all the info like it says in the mpc manual, but nothing is happening. i set the number right on the back of the drive, still nothing. should i get a zip? i need help to get out of the dark ages. can someone give me some suggestions. thank you.

Does the MPC show "cdrom" in the load screen for the disk type?

Can see files in the disk from the load screen?

What kind of disk? One you made? or bought? What format is it?

the disc is a freebee, something i got from the guitar center. it won't load.on the screen it showing cdrom but it won't load.

the only thing i can think of is the format of the files on the disc. mpc may not recognize them.

good looking fellas. now here is a crazy question. where can i get some good cd sounds that will go with my 2000 and my drive? i know somebody is going to be smart and say this site!

If you have a table cop you some vinyl and make your own kits.
It takes a little more time but it's worth it.IMO.

It's not in the right format. The MPC2000 will not read regular data CD's created on a computer. (The XL does).
