Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Does anyone know what the different color on the casing around the pads and around the buttons & nobs above the pads means?
The pics I see on the net, the color is like a light blue, but on mine its more of a darkish green.
Anyone know what order they came out in? or what it means?
or it is just really dark in my room or something?

I know what you mean. I've had 3 different XLs, and the color of the casing was slightly different on them when you compare side to side.
I doubt it has any deeper meaning though.

Akai has gone downhill in quality/quality control with everything post XL release. They need to raise their **** game to what it once was.
