Fruity Loops, Recycle, or Soundforge

In terms of working best with the MPC2000XL what is the software from the above works best and does anybody with professional experience endorse these as something worth working with? Sucks my MPC is in the shop.

Recycle is great for chopping drums and making MIDI files

Sound Forge is great for complex looping, crossfade looping etc.

I use both

Yo! is this still true recycle is the best working with an MPC 2000 (NOT XL!!!!) as far as chopping. I find Recycle kind of confusing. I had a PC and used soundforge and it was the bomb! Now I have a MAC. I use peak but it aint as smooth and easy as Sondforge. I also have MPCPgm Maker. Any suggestions on what I should use for chopping on the MAC?

im using a mac and recycle is perfect for what you want to do. Just experiment with it and do the tutorial too if your still stuck.

Im not sure if there is any alternatives.

well the three of them each do diff functions. recycle is good for chopping up samples, soundforge is good for sampling and looping and effects and eq, and fruity loops is good for making the beat. Or using soundmods. they really differ drasticaly from eachovers functionalities.

There is a program/emulator I've heard of where you can use use PC programs on your mac but I can't remember the name of it.
Otherwise BIAS PEAK for mac is just as capable as Sound Forge for PC.

Best actually depends on MANY things. Your tolerance of the user interface of ANY program is a MAJOR factor. The actual PURPOSE of the software you are inquiring about. Like B said, they are different and have different purposes.
Sound Forge OVER Recycle ANYDAY but that's just me. Fruity is a whole different animal.

You can get virtual pc as Lamp mentioned... and bias peak is a great little app too it fits in with recycle perfectly with my workflow..

I havent used Soundforge before so i couldnt compare the 2.

oh there is also a free editor audacity if you dont want to pay the $$ for peak.

Yeah I picked up audacity and its cool for a free app. Still Audacity is quite quirky, it stuters alot i guess it is sucking alot memory out my iMac and its got about 354ram and runnin 850MHZ. I got reason 2.5 and it works great so maybe just because its free. HEY, ITS STILL AWESOME CAUSE ITS FREE!
Recycle is cool though I had a friend who swares by it. The chopping is kind of clunky to me so I guess I have to play around with it like you all have said. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing out on anything.
Also have any of you chopped up a accappella vocal in recycle before?
