ic-m2tc and flash rom

Ok so maybe I'm dumb but what does the Ic-m2tc chip do exactly and how does it improve the 2kxl, also if you have the flash rom does it really make alot of difference to the xl

its a smpte chip that allows the MPC to transmit and reade smpte time code and before you ask what smpte is.................google it, its good for syncin your gear

the flash rom will enable the MPC to hold 8mb's(I think) of samples in the MPC even if you turn it off as opposed to having to load up samples on power up and save em to disk on power down

The flash rom also turns the MPC into a 40MB machine. This might make or break a memory limited live set.
