Setting up a click track for live work..

Hi,

My band uses an MPC2000xl and we need to set up a click track for the drummer we've been just running the headphones to the drummer but he finds it offputting with everything that is on the MPC and would rather just have a click track in the headphones to keep in time. Is this easy to do, im guessing using MIDI we'd have to sync up a drum machine or indipendent click track.. can any one help? cheapest and best ideas woul be helpful.. the monitoring setup in the London toilet venues isn't very reliable at least if our drummer had a click track in his own headphones we could just follow him!

Well I do have a solution for you if you have the 8 out board. The MPC's metronome can be assigned to any of the 8 outs giving you a dedicated output for the click. You can also assign different sounds for the click track and even the option to have just the start of each bar trigger the click instead having the accent.

For all those options hit "open window" at the on/off switch beside "Count:" in the main sequence screen.

Set the MPC's metronome to an individual output. Run that output to a headphone amp for the drummer.

This solution would be ideal but quite costly turnkey (uk) charge £210.99 for the 8 outputs... i was hoping there would be a cheaper option by syncing a cheap drum machine via MIDI ? is this possible... also seems strange that you cant set the MPCs metronome to just the headphone out put on the MPC, or can you...
