I have waves platinum and so does my boy. I assign a diff. track in pro tools to 1-8 of the MPC out. I use waves platinum effects on the tracks. My boys claims this is a BAD idea. He says that he's going to the EB 16 efx card. I told him it doesn't matter unless using waves makes his CPU run slow. I love it--why drop $300 for nothing?

WOULD U USE WAVES EFFECTS? OR GO BY THE CARD?

in fact of,that the waves bundles will cost you more than 1000 bucks if you buy it!!!, your post is funny...
but: your friend is wrong, the effect-option for mpc2000 is a joke against any waves effect. wave´s software is for professional use - and the price only rentable for professionals

to me it's not is one better than the other, theyre different. the eb16 has its own thing going on, i have and use both the waves stuff and the card. i dont really dig the waves reverb too much, or any plugin reverb really. i USE a lot of them but they always sound a little weird. at least if i use the eb16 reverb on a track, it sounds like it is a prt of the track and not some weird glossy sh1t glued on top of the sound im trying to reverberate.

eq wise, yeah the eb16 isnt gonna be as good as the waves. but the waves eq's dont have LFO's on their eq's either.

basically, theyre not comparable to me.
