Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i have a rane ttm 56 mixer, MPC 2000XL, and the MFC 42 unit.

i'm connecting the mixer outs to the MPC's inputs, then the MPC's outputs to the MFC's inputs, and the MFC's outputs back to the mixer's auxiliary inputs.

is this the right way to connect them? the thing is...how do i take advantage of the MFC-42 tweakings thru the MPC's 8 outputs? for example, say if i wanted to transfer each individual track in my MPC to a computer thru the MPC's 8 outputs. with the way everything is connected, the MFC-42 would have no affect on the sound thru the 8 outs, right? wouldnt i have to run the sounds thru the MFC-42 first, then go to the MPC, and then out the 8 outputs?

for example, would this scenario work, and is this the best way to connect them?:

mixer outputs to the MFC-42's inputs, MFC-42's outputs to the MPC's inputs, and the MPC's MAIN outputs to the mixer. and then use the MPC's 8 outputs to transfer tracks to a computer.

please help me out! thanks

peace

this just came to me,, since the MFC has MIDI in's and out's too, couldnt i just sample from my mixer to the MPC, run those samples from the MPC to the MFC for filtering, and then just send each individual track to the computer thru MIDI? would that worK? if so, how would i control that?

First you need to decide whether you want to use the MFC while sampling intot he MPC, or use the mfc for the audio playing back from the MFC.

I would generally lean towards the output of the MPC since `mistakes` will be easier to correct. That is, if you do not like what you did, you just have to hit play again on the MPC and try the MFC again. If it was on the input, then you have to go through the process of sampling, cutting, trimming, assigning again.

You use the MFC on both the input and the output, but that would require swapping cables or a complex mixer arrangement.

MFC42 is a great piece of gear.
