You'll also ned to change the internal power supply cable - read the tutorial on this site - its for an IDE install, but the cable manipulation is the same. Just make sure you use the internal SCSI port and not the IDE port and make sure your SCSI drive is terminated and set to any ID except 6.
I suugest that you but the akia zip drive kit. It comes with everyhting you need...no cutting or slicing is necessary..just plug and play. Many music stores have it .....Try doing a web search for

youll find many businesses selling the item. Its very easy I installed mine in less than 15 minutes.
That kit is designed for an IDE zip, not a SCSI zip, so the data cable will be useless. The only thing you can use will be the new power cable which should fit either SCSI or IDE.
Well, I need to make the power cable slighly longer but the actual connector to the scsi zip drive already fits. What confuses me is the 50pin connector cable. So 50pin from scsi zip drive to the in the MPC2000XL?
