hooking a jazz drive up

I just bought a new jazz drive for my mpc 2000xl. But after connecting, it didn`t worked. I can`t save/load at all.

Can you explain the problem in more detail please - what is the screen saying, is the MPC recognising the drive etc.

i had a cd rom drive and a jazz drive hooked up to my mpc ...now it's not reading the jazz at all .....and I don't think it's the cable......so I'm just going to remove the floppy drive and install a zip drive .....

also you have to format your jaz drive ....so you should see ?? on the screen ....meaning the system does not reconize the drive type

Per MPC-tutor reply, what exactly is it saying. I also have a Jazz Drive and it works wonders for me. Jimmy me in with the details. Maybe I can help.

he recognizes it as a jazz-drive 2 g hd, but doesn`t load / saves at all

Is there anything coming up on the screen like 'waiting....'. When you say it doesn't load, is there any activity at all from the drive, anything happening on the screen or is the screen completey motionless. It's really hard to help without precise details as it could be a dozen different things.

MPC-tutor, if a Jazz's capacity is 2gb how many songs can you fit on a jaz drive approx.. i know its a fague question but approximately how much if every pad is assigned a 2 sec sound
