Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By stanstilloo7 Mon Sep 26, 2005 6:22 pm
hey peeps, can anyone help me out,
basicly im trying to sample some stuff of a few records to put on my mpc 2000.
what would be the best way to record my samples from records? cause i recorded this sample from a record the other day using my cd recorder which is pluged into my dj mixer and burned the cd then took it to my pc so i could convert the file to wav format, done that then i tried to load it onto my mpc but the size of the sample was to big for my mpc and it wernt like it was a really long sample cause it was only about 2 seconds long.
can anyone tell me the best way to sample stuff from records for my mpc 2k?
any help would be really appreciated
thanks

I'm not sure if you're trying to clown me, but i'll reply anyway

Your mpc is a SAMPLER. So you don't really need to record and burn a cd, you can sample directly to your MPC.
Just run a cable from your dj-mixer to your 2000's input, and break out the manual.

Yep, just a cable. What cable depends on your mixers outputs.

It loads it in the internal memory (RAM), you can then assign it to a pad.

I understand you're new to this all, so it might be best if you take a look at some of the stickies in the Newbie forum, and take some time to read the manual. The manual is a b*tch though, so this forum will be your best friend from now on....
Welcome to the forum.

No problem.

Some have been on here for ages, so they've seen these questions a million times and get a little aggrivated once in a while.
If you play nice and have patience, you get a reply most of the time though.

Blud ! relax... its just the question your asking is kind of basic... you will get flamed asking questions you could read out of the first page of the manual !

Just go to the newbie section... people will be a bit more patient that way... one!
